1. To ensure legal documents are effectively drafted, reviewed and completed in a timely manner and in compliance with the relevant laws
2. To provide timely legal advice for the effective implementation of energy procurement operations

Accountability & Responsibility

1. To draft or review power purchase agreements, cross border agreements and other ancillary agreements in connection thereto
2. To monitor compliance with legal requirements under power purchase, cross-border transactions and ancillary agreements
3. To monitor changes to the Gas regulatory framework and regulatory framework relating to energy procurement and the power industry, NEDA rules and Single Buyer (SB) rules
4. To draft, review, provide legal advice on NEDA scheme and review related NEDA agreements
5. To draft, review and provide reliable legal advice to other non-power contracts for e.g. EULA, software purchase agreement, software maintenance agreement, subscription agreement, consultancy agreement, supply agreement, tenancy agreement, rental agreement, collaboration agreement, MOU, non-disclosure agreement
6. To assist in reviewing existing agreements and compile inputs and opinions on any operational issues relating to the executed agreements for improvement purposes
7. To provide general and specific advice in relation to post contractual issues and identify potential commercial and legal risks
8. To ensure that any arising disputes under any agreement conforms to the specified dispute resolution mechanisms under the agreement
9. To coordinate with internal lawyers in dispute resolution process and getting opinions
10. To draft, review and advise the relevant SLAs with TNB divisions, where applicable
11. To assist in reviewing the legal aspects of memo/letters/board papers
12. To assist in drafting and ensuring compliance with the legal unit’s SOP and process flow
13. Adherence to good corporate governance and other regulatory requirements
14. Conduct specific legal research as and when necessary
15. Maintain proper record management filing system/database for contracts/correspondences and legal matters
16. Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned by supervisor

Experience Requirements

1. Have a minimum of 4 years working experience in corporate and commercial law matters
2. Experience in reviewing complex and technical agreements and drafting opinions on them 
3. Experience in handling projects, working on finance contracts, shareholder agreements and general procurement contract
